ALPHA STIM 100 - What is it?

The Alpha Stim 100 is an electronic stimulation device that induces a comfortable sensation called Alpha relaxation. Alpha relaxation originates from the part of the brain stem which controls the wake/sleep cycle. Therefore, the Alpha Stim can be used to help reduce anxiety, tension headache and create a general relaxation. Alpha relaxation is also a pre-hypnotic state.

How does it feel?

Most people experience changes in perception of body weight. Usually, a heavy feeling at first and a lighter sensation as time passes with the instrument in use. A general feeling of "well-being" is created. Often, a tingling sensation in the ears or extremities occurs during part of the treatment time.

One office treatment generally lasts 12-24 hours. It can last for up to 48 hours with some individuals. If you feel extremely relaxed, you should wait before leaving the office and driving yourself home.

The Alpha Stim can help the musculo-skeletal system return to normal comfort and function faster that it could without its use.

Home use instructions:

1. Before placing the plug into Channel 1, make sure of the following:
   • The Alpha Stim 100 power button is off. No numbers should be showing on display.
   • Both intensity dials, Channel 1 and Channel 2, should read "00" in the windows.
   • Both Channel 1 and Channel 2 slide buttons should be positioned all the way to the left starting position of 9.5 HZ.
   • "Timer selection button" is to be set at the desired length of active time; 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 60 minutes or continuous. The unit will automatically shut itself off at the prescribed time, unless set on continuous.
2. Saturate ear clips with water.
3. Remove all earrings and clean each earlobe with mild soap and water.
4. Place one (1) clip on each earlobe.
5. Push plug into Channel 1; top hole on right of unit.
6. Push power button to ON. Display numbers will start descending countdown if it is on 10, 20 or 60 minute selections or ascending if set on the continuous mode.
7. Be seated prior to turning unit on.
8. Turn "intensity" dial of Channel 1 up SLOWLY. You should not experience dizziness or nausea. However, if either sensation is experienced, turn the intensity down until the feeling subsides. If ears tingle in an uncomfortable way, turn the unit off, rewet the clips and repeat start-up steps.
